web hosting

I had to get a different web hosting today, in the process of moving everything over to the new server now. My old domain somehow went over bandwidth limit last week, never happened before, I can't even access the control panel. I was hoping it would fix itself when august rolls around. I had just renew the service few months ago. Anyway, now I'm using inmotionhosting.com, same hosting mikey uses. They offer more space and bandwidth, as well as parked domain, but has limited mysql databases, and doesn't have ssh access, I guess I can live with just ftp.

web presence

some people have absolutely no web presence, like one of my co-worker from eventscope. i was trying to reconnect with my old co-workers, update my contact infos. i tried googling everyone and checking thru various social networks, i manage to find all but one person, who turned up zero results [other than work related stuff]! how do you do that when you are a tech person...
i on the other hand, probably have too much... found a new application on facebook called my profiles, which lets you list all the other [social network] sites profile, i manage to list 21, left few out. though i haven't touch most of those in years, think might be kind of useful as bookmark.
i also updated live space page, realized few friends uses it as blog, so added their rss feeds to my subscription, and made all the modules on there auto update with feeds from other sites. neat idea eh.

new website, old style

decided to make use of my other domain name while i bought a while ago, luisalu.com. i didn't pay seperate hosting for this one, so using my frc web space, which is appropriate since this is going to be my public website. but university website doesnt allow fancy stuff, so only web 1.0 =P
still work in progress, hopfully all the pages will be up by early next week. not that many anyway, plus with the small frame, it will be easy to fill up.

photo sharing

signed up for msn's live space thing today to view friends photo album (that might not have been necessary actually but already have msn account anyway). i been just posting my pictures on here, but is really disorganized, very difficult to find old stuff, and sometimes i mess up the server some how so then the pic disappears from the post. i have tried alot of the web services out there, but i dont no, there is no real winner. flickr is the most popular, but the free service is not enough and i dont think pro is worth their annual subscription price >.> then theres yahoo (the old one), msn live, ofoto, shutterfly, snapfish and million other web photo printing serivices. problem with those... not enough ppl use them (i dont like to force ppl to sign up for the service just to see the pic), or the interface sucks, or the pic quality sucks. :3
dave... anything good to say about shutterfly?
i'm trying picasa now, here's pictures from my shanghai trip again
