new google map features

there is the street view thing that everyone is talking about, looks like only available in certain city atm, but pretty cool. today i noticed the little check box in the direction area for "Avoid highways"!!! awsome haha, for example going from CMU to somewhere in Monrovile. Jim says "they should have parental control to remove it for ppl like you!" =p

I find comcast ads hilarious, "Digital Preferred Plus Bundle for only $129.99"... ONLY?!?! Who pays that much for their services, why would I want to pay more than what I'm paying now...

Yesterday, Jim used google's new 411 service (800-GOOG-411) to find Church Brew Works' address. He was very impressed with it, the system understood him, he didn't have to repeat anything to confirm.

Jim and I are probably moving to SF in August.

photo sharing

signed up for msn's live space thing today to view friends photo album (that might not have been necessary actually but already have msn account anyway). i been just posting my pictures on here, but is really disorganized, very difficult to find old stuff, and sometimes i mess up the server some how so then the pic disappears from the post. i have tried alot of the web services out there, but i dont no, there is no real winner. flickr is the most popular, but the free service is not enough and i dont think pro is worth their annual subscription price >.> then theres yahoo (the old one), msn live, ofoto, shutterfly, snapfish and million other web photo printing serivices. problem with those... not enough ppl use them (i dont like to force ppl to sign up for the service just to see the pic), or the interface sucks, or the pic quality sucks. :3
dave... anything good to say about shutterfly?
i'm trying picasa now, here's pictures from my shanghai trip again

google map

google fangirl

everyone probabbly using google calendar by now, so nothing new there.

the new beta in town is spreadsheet, compare to excel, its pretty lacky in feature actually: can't do borders, can't comment, can't freeze row+column, just few off top of my head. but i already starting to like the online/sharing aspect of it. similar to the advantage of gmail and calendar, it means you have access to it from any where as long as you have internet and web browser. but it is a tad scary how more and more of your info and files are now stored by google (or else where online), you might not actually own a backup copy yourself offline. hm...

my brother happened to send me a link to msn local.live today, and out of habbit, i used the middle button to zoom.... and magically it actually worked! now why doesnt google map have that?.... could really use that in spreadsheet as well, well the right mouse button probabbly more important.

while messing with gmail and firing off few suggestions, i realized they have added few more unannoced features in settings.
send email from another address: this is useful if you have things forward to gmail :)
filtering: auto filter or archive or delete mails as they come in, makes you even lazier
gchat: well not new nor part of setting, i think it was very smart of them to intergrate it, quite useful, its an IM service I wouldnt use otherwise (trillian 2 pro's jabber doesnt support it)

just wish google calendar could be more intergrated with gmail, well just simply let me stick a piece of email on to an event... anyway, sadly its not at all intergrated for me right now, other than "inviting" people from my gmail contact to see events. i find that's the best way to share specific events with individuals (even if its not really an actual event that would require invitation or guests), instead of sharing a whole calendar and forgetting who can see what, and not having the alert feature, the 3 calendar iu already have still would not be enough anyway.
